आरआरबी जूनियर इंजीनियर भर्ती 2026 — CEN 04/2026 (4,029 पद)

A candidate may choose ONE Railway Recruitment Board only, and indicate preferences for zones and posts within that Board. The choice cannot be changed once made.

4,029 posts across all Railway Recruitment Boards, revised from 3,993 by Corrigendum-1 of 18 August 2026, which added the Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant post. The figures are provisional and may rise or fall as the Railway administrations require.

Dates for the computer based tests, document verification and the medical examination are not in this notification. RRB will announce them on the website of the RRB concerned.

आरआरबी मुजफ्फरपुर: 17 पद

Both Bihar Boards recruit for East Central Railway (ECR). Vacancies for every other Railway Recruitment Board, including Prayagraj and Gorakhpur, are in Annexure B of the notification.

• Where more than one relaxation applies, the candidate gets the largest single one. They do not add together.
• SC, ST and OBC (NCL) candidates applying against unreserved vacancies get no age relaxation.
• The date of birth in the application must match the matriculation or SSLC certificate exactly. No later change is considered, and a mismatch disqualifies the candidate.

शैक्षणिक योग्यता

• A three-year Diploma in Engineering, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, in the discipline prescribed for the post in Annexure A. For Depot Material Superintendent, a three-year Diploma in any engineering discipline is accepted.
• The qualification must already be held on or before the closing date, 13.09.2026.
• Candidates awaiting the result of their final examination are not eligible to apply.
• Where a certificate is issued after the closing date, the consolidated marksheet showing the date the final result was declared must be produced at document verification.

• Of the ₹500 fee, ₹400 is refunded, less bank charges, to candidates who appear in the 1st stage CBT.
• The whole ₹250 is refunded, less bank charges, to candidates who appear in the 1st stage CBT.
• Only candidates who actually sit the 1st stage CBT get a refund.
• Refunds are paid only into a bank account seeded with the candidate's Aadhaar number.
• No refund is made where the application is incomplete, unsubmitted or rejected.
• Payment is online only: internet banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.
• Economically Backward Class is not the same as OBC or EWS. The EBC certificate, BPL card or Izzat MST must be dated on or before 13.09.2026.

प्रथम चरण सीबीटी: 100 प्रश्न, 100 अंक, 90 मिनट

• Common to every post in this notification, and of screening nature only, the 1st stage marks are used to shortlist for the 2nd stage and do not count towards the final merit.
• 120 minutes for candidates entitled to a scribe.
• General Science covers Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences to class 10 CBSE standard.
• Minimum qualifying marks: UR 40%, EWS 40%, OBC (NCL) 30%, SC 30%, ST 25%. The same applies to ex-servicemen by their own community.
• These minima may be relaxed by 2 marks for PwBD candidates where there is a shortage against posts reserved for them.
• The section-wise split is indicative and the actual paper may vary.

द्वितीय चरण सीबीटी: 150 प्रश्न, 150 अंक, 120 मिनट

• 160 minutes for candidates entitled to a scribe.
• Shortlisting for the 2nd stage is on normalised 1st stage marks, at 15 times the community-wise vacancies notified against that Board.
• Technical Abilities are set by exam group: the syllabus for each group is at Annexure VIII (A) to (D) of the notification.
• The section-wise split is indicative and the actual paper may vary.

There is negative marking in both computer based tests. One third of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for each wrong answer.

1. 1st Stage CBT: screening only. The marks shortlist candidates for the 2nd stage and do not count towards the final merit.
2. 2nd Stage CBT: 150 marks, including 100 marks of technical ability for the exam group of the post.
3. Document verification: candidates are called at 1:1 of the vacancies, Board by Board.
4. Medical examination, to the standard prescribed for the post.
