BTSC 2026 Documents: Every Certificate Must Be Dated by 23 or 24 October
Sarkari Naukri Khabar • Bihar
The rule that ends most BTSC applications is not about marks. Every certificate you rely on, academic, caste, residence, experience, must have been issued on or before the closing date of the advertisement: 23 October for Advt 27 and 28, 24 October for Advt 29 and 30. A certificate dated after that is not accepted, and the advertisements say that even if the last date is extended, this date does not move with it. This guide covers what to upload, how, and what gets an application rejected at verification.
The date that decides everything
Every certificate and marksheet you rely on must be issued on or before the closing date of the advertisement you are applying to. For Advt 27/2026 and 28/2026 that is 23 October 2026, and for Advt 29/2026 and 30/2026 it is 24 October 2026.
A certificate issued a day later is not accepted, however genuine it is. If a certificate you need has not been applied for yet, that is the thing to do today, not the form.
Only what you upload gets verified
The advertisements are explicit: at document verification, only the certificates and marksheets uploaded in the online application are checked against the originals. Anything you did not upload is not accepted at that stage.
So a qualification, a reservation claim or a work experience you hold but did not upload counts for nothing, and the responsibility for that is placed squarely on the candidate. There is no adding a document later.
Write the number and the date of issue in the form
For each certificate you must enter its number and its date of issue in the online application, and upload it in the column provided. The advertisements say a certificate whose details are not entered is not accepted.
Scan properly, or lose it at verification
The advertisements make a specific point of this. Upload documents scanned clearly with a scanner. A document that is blurred, faint, dark or unreadable gives the Commission the right to end your candidature at document verification.
This is worth taking literally. A photograph of a certificate taken on a phone in poor light is the kind of upload that fails, and it fails months later when nothing can be done about it.
What to have ready
The advertisements list what will be sought. Gather these before you start the form, not while it is open.
- Matriculation certificate, as proof of date of birth
- The academic or professional certificates and marksheets for the qualification the post requires
- Caste certificate and permanent residence certificate for SC and ST claims, issued in the father's name for a married woman
- Non-creamy-layer certificate for Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class claims
- Income and asset certificate for an EWS claim, valid for one year from issue
- Disability certificate in the prescribed form for a disability claim, and Form VI for a multiple disability claim
- The experience or salary payment certificate from the authority the advertisement names, for anyone claiming contract service weightage
- A recent photograph and your signature, plus a photo identity document, with Aadhaar preferred
Aadhaar, and why the Commission prefers it
The advertisements ask candidates to enter an Aadhaar number as the photo identity document by preference. Where a candidate does not have Aadhaar, another photo identity such as a PAN card or driving licence may be given.
The reason is practical: at document verification an OTP is sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar. If your Aadhaar is not linked to a working mobile number, get that fixed now rather than on the day.
Keep the printout, and the email address
After you submit, download the completed application and keep two printed copies. The Commission can ask for the hard copy and the original certificates at any stage.
Keep the email address and mobile number you entered working until the final result. All notices about these advertisements are published on btsc.bihar.gov.in, and the Commission is not obliged to tell you separately by SMS, email or newspaper. Checking the website yourself is part of the process.
Frequently Asked Questions
By when must my certificates be issued for BTSC 2026?
23 October 2026 for Advt 27 and 28, and 24 October 2026 for Advt 29 and 30. A certificate dated after that is not accepted, and an extension of the last date does not move it.
I have a certificate but did not upload it. Will it be accepted at verification?
No. Only documents uploaded in the online application are verified against the originals. Anything not uploaded counts for nothing.
My scan came out dark. Does that matter?
Yes. The advertisements say a blurred, faint, dark or unreadable upload gives the Commission the right to end your candidature at document verification.
Is Aadhaar compulsory for BTSC 2026?
It is preferred, not compulsory. Without it you may give another photo identity. But the verification OTP goes to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number, so link it now if it is not.
Do I have to send a printed application to BTSC?
No, but download it and keep two printed copies. The Commission can ask for the hard copy and originals at any stage.
Will BTSC inform me by SMS or newspaper?
It is not obliged to. All notices are published on btsc.bihar.gov.in and checking the website is the candidate's responsibility.
