The Bihar Technical Service Commission has advertised 6 posts of Scientific Assistant in the State Drug Control Laboratory under the Health Department, at pay Level 5. It is a small recruitment: 3 unreserved, 1 SC, 1 Extremely Backward Class and 1 Backward Class, with 1 of the 6 reserved for women under Bihar's 35 per cent horizontal reservation, and no posts reserved for disabled candidates or the descendants of freedom fighters. Applications run from 25 September to 24 October 2026 at btsc.bihar.gov.in, the fee is Rs 100 online only, and age is counted as on 1 August 2026. Selection is a computer based test worth 75 marks, to which up to 25 marks are added for candidates already serving on contract in the same post, 5 marks a year to a maximum of five years. The percentage scored in the test is multiplied by 0.75, so 50 per cent becomes 37.5 marks. Negative marking applies. The qualifying marks are 40 per cent general, 36.5 per cent Backward Class, 34 per cent SC, ST and Extremely Backward Class, and 32 per cent women and disabled candidates; candidates from outside Bihar need 40 per cent. The educational qualification is set out in the notification and should be read there.
