Screening test pattern, from the syllabus issued by the Principal Controller of Examinations, APSC (memo Exam-11/2026-2027), dated 17 July 2026:
Paper I: General Studies. Multiple choice, 100 marks, 2 hours, 100 objective questions. Topics: the Constitution and political system of India; current events of national and international importance; the Indian economy and planning process; geography of India, Assam and the world; the role of science and technology in India; culture and history of Assam, India and the world; the Indian national movement with special reference to Assam.
Paper II: Mining and Geology. Multiple choice, 100 marks, 2 hours. Seven units: basic concepts of mining and geology; mine development and surveying; geomechanics and ground control; mining methods and machinery; surface environment, mine ventilation and underground hazards; mine economics, mine planning and mine management; and mine legislation.
Note on Units 1 and 7: as published, the syllabus names Rajasthan alongside national topics, the mineral and energy resources of Rajasthan and its dimensional stone resources in Unit 1, and the Rajasthan Minor Mineral Concession Rules 2017, Rajasthan Mineral Policy 2015 and Rajasthan M-Sand Policy 2020 in Unit 7, next to the Mines Act 1952, the National Mineral Policy 2019 and the central rules. That is what the Commission has published. Candidates who want it clarified should ask the Commission rather than assume anything has been omitted or included in error.
