Screening test pattern, from the syllabus issued by the Principal Controller of Examinations, APSC (memo Exam-09/2026-2027), dated 17 July 2026:
Paper I: General Studies. Multiple choice, 100 marks, 2 hours, 100 objective questions. Topics: the Constitution and political system of India; current events of national and international importance; the Indian economy and planning process; geography of India, Assam and the world; the role of science and technology in India; culture and history of Assam, India and the world; the Indian national movement with special reference to Assam.
Paper II: Mechanical Engineering. Multiple choice, 100 marks, 2 hours. Eleven topics: statics, dynamics, theory of machines, mechanics of solids, manufacturing science, production management, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, energy conversion and environmental control.
